Store Revolutionizes Recycling Model

   

Shopping for recyclable and recycled products can be a headache for consumers and businesses alike. Recology CleanScapes is looking to change that. The store recently opened in Bothell, WA and offers their customers a completely green line of products. In addition to offering up-cycled, recycled and re-purposed products, Recology CleanScapes also offers recycling drop off for products like polystyrene foam, electronics and metal. 

“This retail store helps us to achieve Recology’s vision of a world without waste,” said Recology CleanScapes’ General Manager Dan Bridges. “By offering our customers more opportunities to recycle and reduce their environmental impact, we are making a sustainable difference in Bothell.” 

Recology CleanScapes is the retail arm of Recology, a recycling and waste removal company from northern California.  From their website, “Recology CleanScapes began operations in October 1997 (as CleanScapes) providing exterior cleaning and maintenance for Seattle's Historic Pioneer Square District. In October 2011, CleanScapes merged with San Francisco-based and employee-owned Recology in order to enhance our waste zero capacity. Recology is a 90-year old company, a pioneer in waste reduction and recovery, and one of the largest operators of material recovery and organics processing facilitates in the western United States.” 

The company also offers educational events to promote recycling and environmental stewardship. They have offered workshops in communities like Seattle, Shoreline, Issaquah, Des Moines, Carnation, SeaTac and Burien to help grow recycling programs in businesses and give employees a step-by-step process on how to make the most of these programs. 

The Recology Store in Bothell is located at 22833 Bothell-Everett Highway #111 (between the QFC and Bartell Drugs in the Canyon Park Place Shopping Center). The store is open from 10am to 6pm Monday through Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
